EPIC Emigration Museum

I took a trip to the EPIC Irish Emigration Museum last week on a rainy day and I have to say I wasn’t disappointed. I had heard about it when Meghan Markle and Harry went to visit it. It’s along the docks in Dublin City Centre and is beside a number of cafés and restaurants so there are plenty of places to chose from if you fancy a bite to eat!

The members of staff were very friendly and were eager to chat to us and make us feel as welcome as possible. They gave us a little cardboard notebook that was designed as a passport which we could get stamped at each exhibit. I appreciated having a keepsake that I could help create during my trip and keep afterwards to remember the trip.

What I enjoyed the most about the museum is the creativity an huge amount of effort that went into creating an interactive museum for people of all ages to enjoy the learning experience. The museum is filled with colour and photographs and videos and touch screen tables.

It was a really fun day out. I would definitely recommend taking a visit there especially on a rainy day if you are looking for something to do by yourself or with your friends or the family. You can learn a lot about emigration, Ireland and the people that live in it. We spent over two hours at the museum.

Do you like going to museums?
