Why you should be proud of your blog

Hello friends of the internet,

The idea for this blog post came to me while I was in the middle of an interview and I was dying to write about it so as soon as I came home I spent some time formulating the idea and planning it out a little better.

I applied to become a member of our Students Union’s creative team. As it turns out I didn’t get the job but I was delighted to even be selected for the group interview. When I saw the requirements for the interview I began to panic a bit. We were instructed to bring with us a creative project and speak about the creative process we used when working on it.

I had no idea what I would bring with me, especially as I only received the email the day before the interview. I started thinking that I could do some light photography or experiment with some water and take photographs of lots of little droplets. I’ve done this before and I was really happy with how it turned out. I still hadn’t properly settled on one thing that I felt passionate enough to speak about.

Later that evening I thought of the one thing that is creative and inspires me to be creative, it is the one thing that I want to be proud of and speak about: my blog. I’ve been working on it for over two years now and it a place where I can be myself and share my opinions with the world and learn about their opinions. This is something that I wanted to be proud of and I can now say that I am proud of it.

I’ve recently completed a series of coaching sessions with Vicky, blog coach and writer of https://www.theflourishingpantry.com/ and I now feel really proud and happy with my blog. I can confidently say I like the direction that it is going in. I have a lot of ideas I wan to work on and I am ready to do that. There’s already a series in motion on the blog which I am happy with because it is something I never thought I would do and I have so many ideas for the future.

What I am trying to say is that it is okay to be proud of your blog. It is a part of who you are. It is something you have built from scratch, something that you have worked on and spent time and effort designing and creating content for. Your blog is fantastic and so are you!

Part 5 of the Little Things series will be up on the blog on Monday. If you missed part 4 you can read it right here: https://girlmasked.com/2019/01/28/little-thing-4-pretty-lights/ .

See you back here on Monday.

  1. This was such a good post, and you’re right, we definitely need to feel proud of our blogs! It’s a massive creative outlet, and we should celebrate that. It’s so diverse and can help us in so many ways, as you’ve demonstrated with your ability to use it in that Student Union interview, so what’s not to be proud of? I’ve been reading along with your Little Things series and I’m really enjoying it; I can’t wait what else you have to bring to the table as the year continues!

  3. First of all you should be proud of your blog, because it’s really great 🙂 It’s not easy running a blog. It takes time, effort and a lot of hours to keep it running and keep it the way you want it. Sometimes we all need to hear that. Loved reading this 🙂
