My goals for 2019

This year I have set some attainable goals for 2019 that I am actually really excited about. Now I know there is a fair amount of controversy surrounding New Year’s resolutions but it can be fun and beneficial to set some small goals.

I like having something to work on; a goal to aim for and something to be happy with once I have achieved it. Usually I make ridiculous and far fetched resolutions that I would be afraid to even try complete. This year I wanted to set goals that are achievable and enjoyable to set and reach,

My goals for this year are as follows:

  1. Do a 10km race
  2. Practice self love
  3. Make sure I have time for myself
  4. Push myself out of my comfort zone once in a while.

I’ve been training for ages now and I’ve been taking it more seriously over the past couple of months. There’s some great races coming up over the next few months and I am going to sign up for one of them.

As I have mentioned before I have a subscription to Headspace. I use it to help me to sleep but I want to try to use it throughout the day, even if it is just a three minute meditation to help me feel more grounded throughout thhe day.

I want to make a conscious effort to have more time to myself to relax and switch off from my buzzing thoughts. I always look forward to watching a bit of television at the end of the day and reading a bit of my book afterwards. Both of these activities allow me to have a bit of escapism and it honesly feels great to have time to unwind and do something I enjoy.

Sometimes I avoid things because I’m too afraid to do them but I want to step out of my comfort zone at least once this year and do something that I wouldn’t normally do.

Did you make any goals for 2019?

Here’s to a wonderful new year.

There’ll be another post here on the blog on Monday.
