Little Thing 1: Sunrise

Hello,

The first Little Thing I would like to share with you is the beautiful sunrise I saw one morning on the way to my first lecture of day. I’m not usually a morning person. I’m not a fan of getting up early but for two of the mornings during the week I have 9am lectures so I get up at 7am to get to university on time.

One morning there was an unusually little amount of traffic on the roads and I got to University with forty minutes to spare so I headed down to South Campus for a little stroll before the hustle and bustle of the day began. I am honestly so happy that I did because I took some photographs that I am really pleased with and I felt a lot more relaxed than I usually do before going into class.

I saw the prettiest view of the sun as it was rising and I stood still, took my headphones off my head and just watched it for a couple of minutes. It felt good to take time to myself to appreciate what was right under my nose. If I hadn’t spent the time wandering around Campus without any place to be or without focusing on anything in particular I wouldn’t have seen the sun rise if I hadn’t had a couple moments of peace to myself.

I spent the rest of the time before my class walking around campus and taking photographs of all the old buildings and the trees. The lighting was great especially with the sun rising in the background. I felt like I had accomplished so much before the day had even began. Here’s to trying to be a morning person again and appreciating what’s around me.

The next Little Thing will be on the blog next Monday.

What little thing are you grateful for this week?

Until next time,

Girl Masked

I wake up early but I rarely look out the door or step out of the house at that time so I don’t see the sunrise that often. Still, there’s something completely sublime about them. Love these photos! One little thing I’m grateful for is having blankets, I get cold easily so I often rely on them even on hot days haha!

What a lovely start to the series, and your morning! That sunrise looks beautiful. I always seem to miss sunrise. It’s dark, I blink and it’s light. I need to start paying more attention x
