I hope you’re doing well!
My apologies for how late this blog post is. It was meant to be up a few days ago as part of the Blog Book Tour organised by Reads and Reels but I had some problems with WordPress. The save button wasn’t working. Anyway fingers crossed all seems to be working now, thankfully!
I really enjoyed reading the excerpts of My Sweet Friend by Helene Andrea Leuschel. What impressed me the most about this book was the author’s writing style. I loved the pace of the story and how it flowed so well. It had a good mix of dialogue of description which is one of the things I really look for in a book. I loved the simplicity of the language which made it so much easier to read.
The characters also seemed really interesting. I love a good mysterious character and Alexa was certainly one. There definitely seemed to be more to her than met the eye especially in terms of her family and I would love to find out more about her.
The author made great use of the different viewpoints of the characters and I liked how they really contrasted one another. It was great to gain an insight into how each character was feeling and the first person narrative made it that extra bit more personal.
I would recommend this book to anyone who likes a good mystery novel both young adults and adults alike.
Thanks to Shannon Q for sending me the excerpts of this book and thank you for reading my blog post!
All the best,
