New York Guest Post by Kate Loves Travel

Hi everyone,

My apologies for not posting a blog post last weekend. I know I had Pot Love Review up but I was planning to post the usual weekend post. University has been pretty hectic!

This wonderful guest post below is from Kate who’s blog is http://katelovestravel.net/

I absolutely love New York! It is definitely my favourite city to visit… there is just so much to see and do and it’s such a friendly place!  So here are my top 10 things to do (in no particular order):

IMG_0648.JPG
The Statue of Liberty – you can’t visit New York and not go and see the most iconic landmark in the City… and very impressive she is too!

Times Square by night – the atmosphere and those bright, neon lights make Times Square at night a must see. Just wander round and soak up the atmosphere.

Take in a Broadway Show – the productions are fantastic and the buzz on Broadway is incredible.  Make sure you book tickets in advance for popular shows!

Central Park – a great place to stroll around, watch the talented street artists and escape the hustle and bustle of the City.

Top of the Rock – get an incredible bird’s eye view over New York from the top of the Rockefeller Center.

Walk the High Line – a tranquil, unique green space regenerated from a disused railway line through the financial heart of Manhattan.

MoMA (Museum of Modern Art) – if you only go to one gallery in NYC, make it this one and see some inspiring modern art by artists such as Pollock, Warhol and Picasso.

Shopping – you couldn’t go to NYC and not go shopping, could you? From small boutiques to big department stores, there is just so much choice!

Bar SixtyFive – enjoy cool cocktails and fantastic views of NYC by night at this chic bar on the 65th floor of the Rockefeller Center.
September 11 Memorial – a striking memorial to remember the victims of the horrific events of 9/11.

A huge thank you to Kate from http://katelovestravel.net/ for writing this guest post and sending it over to me to post on my blog. I have written a blog post about the Top 5 places to visit in Budapest. So if you have time please go over and check it out!

  3. I’ve wanted to visit New York ever since watching the ELF movie at Christmas and falling in love with the city in it’s snowy form hehe! I’d love to visit the Museum of Modern Art too, to see a Picasso in real life would be such a thrill! I agree that the Statue of Liberty would be an essential place to stop off as well!
