I’ve decided to take part in the 30 day March blogging challenge that was created by the author of . I was a bit dubious if I could keep blogging every day for that length of time but I thought why not.. lets give it a go!
So the first title is what, why and where I write….let’s begin!
I write short stories, poems and blog posts. My first short story that I wrote was written when I was eight I think and was based on pictures I saw on a piece of wrapping paper that my Mam bought to wrap my cousin’s birthday present. While she was ironing I created the story and said it aloud to her while holding it! I think I kept a small piece of the wrapping paper for a keepsake but unfortunately at this moment in time I have no idea where it is so I can’t show you a picture of it. Basically it’s yellow with cartoon pictures of little insects all over it. The ones that had main roles in the story were the bee and ladybird and I think the snail. I can remember exactly what they look like. From that moment on I realised that I loved creating stories and after a while I began to write more. In primary school if I finished my work early I continued working on my stories.
When I got into secondary school and my anxiety began I started writing poems to deal with it and express my feeling. I’ve written quite a lot and I still write poetry. If some of yu are interested I could share some poems on this blog so you could get an idea for what I write. I have some of them on wattpad and my username is professorbooks for any of you who are also on wattpad.I also submit them to the writing group I’m part of as well as my stories. The other members of the group share their advice on the work sent in. And lastly as you know I write blog posts which I really enjoy since June.
I write because it is a great way of expressing yourself and I find it far easier to express myself through the written word rather than through the spoken word. I can think about what I’m going to write and plan it unlike when I speak when I have to see the reaction of others and worry about what they will think. Maybe you can say it’s the same with writing but personally I feel the opposite. I love the feeling of getting my words down on paper, it just makes me happy and is something I really enjoy. I also like creating characters and imagining how they would live their life, personality traits, etc. I also find writing very therapeutic. I write to hopefully help and inspire others in my life and help them be happy and I would love that by reading some of my work it was of comfort to people or acted as some form of escapism for them either.
I write in different places but the main ones are in my bedroom or in school. I usually write my stories or plans for them in my big A4 notebook that has all the letters of alphabet on it and I write my poems in a little notebook with pretty pink and turquoise birds on the front. I write at my desk where I do my homework or lying on my bed. Sometimes I write curled up on the comfy couch in my living room by the warm fire. Other times I write in school when I finish my work early or we have a free class and I get an idea for a blog post or poem.
Yeah so a big thank you to the organiser of this challenge and writer of the amazing blog which I will link here and you should definitely check out her blog and please keep an eye out for another blog post tomorrow!
